I have to read a book for class…
Which is fine. It’s a modern novel, just came out in 2011. It looked pretty cool.
Then I started reading it.
It’s the same fucking plot of Jane Eyre. From beginning to end. Even the conversations and situations she has. I don’t care if it’s set in the 50s, or in Scotland then later England. Just assign us to read Jane Eyre, not a book that rips it off and adds 100 pages.
I don’t mind when authors or poets want to borrow some things from other literature. That’s okay. But don’t just take the whole plot and not even rework it a little bit.
